One of the more popular attractions on Florida's Space Coast (Brevard County) is the sprawling launch facilities on Canaveral's National Seashore near the Mosquito Lagoon. Kennedy Space Center aka KSC host NASA and part of Canaveral Air Force Station facilities where men were launched to the moon and walked in space.
If you haven't taken time to visit the Visitor's Center at KSC, it's a MUST for all to see and witness the undertaking that the United States tasked upon it's self in the last half a century. You'll see the rise of putting a man in space with the Mercury Gemini program, the mission to the moon with the Apollo Saturn V and remarkable shuttle program that lasted over 30 years. New programs and endeavors to reach Mars and explore other planets are all part of NASA's mission statement and Kennedy Space Center is the hub of launch facilities in America today.
When you're taking a fishing trip on the Mosquito Lagoon you'll likely see the Vehicle Assembly Building or VAB to the south and several launch facilities. On launch days the lagoon is a fantastic way to see a rocket take off and roar upwards until reaching space.
Kennedy Space Center where rockets are launched and NASA put man on the moon is located on World Famous Mosquito Lagoon and Canaveral National Seashore.
