Bairs Cove Boat Launch
Boating On The Mosquito Lagoon
Wednesday December 13, 2017
Sheltered from the wind and plenty of parking makes Bairs Cove the most popular boat launch on the Mosquito Lagoon. Located off of Courtenay Pkwy (State Road 3) on the south side of the Haulover Canal bridge, Bairs Cove is an excellent choice for gaining access to the beautiful Mosquito Lagoon on Florida's east coast.
There are two public access roads to this popular boat ramp, one from the north where SR3 and US1 intersect near Edgewater and the more popular Titusville entrance to the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge coming from Titusville on SR407 and the Max Brewer Memorial Bridge. "Either way provides easy access to this isolated boat launch in the middle of nowhere" explains Captain Gina of Lagooner Fishing Guides. "Simply follow SR3 till you get to the Haulover draw bridge and exit west at the prominent sign (Bairs Cove Boat Ramp)".
There's a nominal park fee required for using the facilities and a fishing permit that can be purchased at the ranger station, but when you go with Lagooner Fishing Guides all these fees are taken care of by your guide. As of late, cleaning fish is restricted in the park, but following your guide to the nearest boat ramp Parrish Park provides a location to cut and clean fish legally.
Launching a boat on the World Famous Mosquito Lagoon is as easy as heading to the popular boat launch called Bairs Cove at Haulover Canal and Indian River.
